2014 Lynn Concerto Competition Results
 

Six Conservatory students (flutists Alla Sorokoletova and Anastasia Tonina, violinist Vijeta Sathyaraj, cellist Trace Johnson, and pianists Munkhshur Enkhbold and Chen Liang) will appear as soloists with the Lynn Philharmonia in the Wold Performing Arts Center on Nov. 15 at 7:30 pm and Nov. 16 at 4 pm. with Maestro Figueroa conducting. These six musicians were declared winners of the annual concerto competition which took place Oct. 17-19 in the Amarnick-Goldstein Concert Hall. Violist Jesse Yukimura was designated the alternate. There were 32 works entered in the preliminary round and 10 works in the finals. A special recognition award in collaborative piano was earned by Carina Inoue. The distinguished jury panel of guest musicians included Graham Ashton, trumpeter and director of the Purchase College Conservatory of Music in New York, Sheila Browne, violist at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and Uriel Tsachor, pianist at the University of Iowa.
