Class Gifts Leave a Legacy

2017 Class Gift

The Class of 2017 will leave their mark on the university by giving back to incoming students who are in good academic standing and express the need for financial support. The Alumni Pay it Forward Endowed Scholarship will continue to benefit students for years to come, long after our graduates have left.

2016 Class Gift

The Class of 2016 will leave their mark on the university by giving back to an incoming student who is in good academic standing and expresses a need for financial support. The Alumni Pay it Forward Endowed Scholarship will continue to benefit students for years to come, long after our graduates have left.

2015 Class Gift

Members of the Class of 2015 raised funds to upgrade the Pit. Through the 2015 Class Gift, the Pit now features a shaded gathering space under a flowered archway along with wrap-around seating—making it the perfect spot for students to study, hang out or relax.

2014 Class Gift

The Class of 2014 left its legacy at Lynn by donating three flag poles in the new Bobby Campbell Stadium. Each home game for men's lacrosse and men's and women's soccer will be started with the National Anthem as fans, student-athletes, coaches and referees face the American flag, Florida state flag and Lynn University flag.

2013 Class Gift

The gift from the Class of 2013 is a plaque near The Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center. The plaque commemorates the dual historic events of the presidential debate held on campus on Oct. 22, 2012 and the 50Th anniversary of Lynn University.

2012 Class Gift

As its legacy to its alma mater, the Class of 2012 raised more than $7,000 to donate a memorial bench for the Remembrance Plaza. This bench is a place for the Lynn community members to sit, relax, and reflect whenever they need a minute of peace.

2011 Class Gift

The Class of 2011 selected an outdoor sitting area as its parting gift to the university. Located between residence halls and near the existing barbecues (gifts of the Class of 2006), this central meeting space provides students with a place to study, spend time with friends and hold get-togethers.

Greg Sullivan ’89 presented a challenge to his fellow alumni: for every dollar given toward the 2011 class gift, he offered to match up to $2,500. The 2011 Class Gift appeal had the highest number for total donors for a class gift in Lynn University history, 280 people contributed over $8,100.

2010 Class Gift

The Class of 2010 collected $5,700 to erect a graduation archway that stands beside one of the seven freshwater lakes on campus. This archway is a class gift legacy that serves as a reminder of the Class of 2010 and how they are forever tied to Lynn.

Classes of 2008 and 2009

The Classes of 2008 and 2009 contributed more than $16,000 to the university’s endowment as their legacy to Lynn. These endowment funds live on forever to aid those worthy fellow Knights in need.

2007 Class Gift

2007 was one of the most successful years for raising funds for the annual class gift. With donations just short of $10,000, the Class of 2007 donated three benches which line the walkway that runs through the center of campus. Thousands of students, professors and staff walk by these benches every day and often stop to sit and chat with friends and faculty. These benches keep the Class of 2007 tied to Lynn on a daily basis.

2006 Class Gift

The Class of 2006 donated a BBQ pit area outside Freiburger Residence Hall. The class raised more than $5,500 to provide students and staff with a place to gather for picnics and various outdoor events. Every time the grills are used, the Class of 2006 is remembered and thereby keeping them tied to Lynn University. This 2006 Class Gift will be incorporated into the 2011 Class Gift of a gazebo, providing both outdoor and covered areas for mingling.

2005 Class Gift

The Class of 2005 raised more than $4,000 to enhance the campus with a beautiful clock.  The clock stands at the entrance to the Harold and Mary Perper Plaza in the heart of the Lynn campus. Faculty, staff, students and campus visitors walk by the clock each day and remember the Class of 2005.
