Twelve Lynn University students and two faculty went on the January 2010 Journey of Hope to Haiti—one endeavor in the university’s tradition of service. Arriving a day before the deadly quake, they had time to make a difference at a school for the handicapped and a girls’ orphanage.
Then on Jan. 12, 2010, a 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, tragically interrupting their plans and creating the darkest day in the university’s history.
Eight students returned home after the quake, but four students and two professors died.
We invite you to be a part of The Lynn University Remembrance Plaza.
The Lynn University Remembrance Plaza tells their story. Designed by Sousa Architecture, this is a place of remembrance and reflection...a place of inspiration.
Fundraising for the Remembrance Plaza continues in order to meet the final costs and to endow the project for its care and maintenance. Donors of $2,500 or more may have their names listed on the donor wall.
