Lynn Pianists Sweep FSMTA Competitive Events

Conservatory piano students, Jiaxian Li & Matthew Calderon, won the Byrd Memorial Piano Ensemble Competition with their piano duo and Matthew Calderon won the Gray Perry Young Collegiate Piano Award as a soloist. These are competitions sponsored by the Florida State Music Teachers Association and were held in Jacksonville on the campus of Jacksonville University on May 14. The winners received cash prizes. Li is a Master of Music student and Calderon is a sophomore in the BM program--both pianists are members of the piano studio of Roberta Rust.
