Piano student nabs first prize in Sarasota competition

Heqing Huang, a junior in the Conservatory of Music’s piano studio of Roberta Rust, won the first prize Virginia B. Toulmin Award of $6,000 at the Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota’s 2014 Competition for Piano on, March 29. The competition took place in the Neel Performing Arts Center at the State College of Florida in Bradenton. He performed music of Prokofiev, JS Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin.
