Brian Glynn ’13

I am writing to thank you for your generous gift to the students at Lynn University – the Bryan Bourgeois Endowed Scholarship in Hospitality Management. I was very happy and appreciative to learn that I was selected as the recipient of your scholarship. I am from Framingham, Massachusetts, a medium-sized town 30 minutes west of Boston. Growing up I loved Boston, but always knew that I should expand my horizons and study elsewhere. That is how I found Lynn University. It is not only me who is expressing gratitude, but my whole family. I am very close with my family and with word of my scholarship I shared my jubilation with everyone. My parents Christine and Jack were very excited with the news. I have always been quite close with my parents and with my sister Bridget who is entering university this year. She will be attending Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.; it is a college for the deaf.

I am currently a hospitality major with a minor in English and my GPA is a 3.26. I plan to pursue a career in hotel/resort management upon graduating from Lynn University. I am currently a junior, and plan to graduate in the spring of 2013. After graduation, I will enter the field of hospitality with the vast knowledge I have received at the university. I want to be able to align with a good organization and grow with it. Thanks to you, I am one step closer to that goal. Lynn’s small school atmosphere has been able to foster my ability. The small classes have allowed me to make personal connections with my professors and through this I have been able to excel.

The Gloria and Bryan Bourgeois Endowed Scholarship in Hospitality Management has lightened my financial burden and allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school, learning. The cost of going to college is an increasing burden and with another sibling now in college it becomes even more difficult. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.
